After a 2-year break during the pandemic from public events and trade shows, we are excited to be back at the NRA Show in 2022!
This year's show is extra special to us as we acknowledge our 75th Anniversary and reflect on our company's rich history and how it set the foundation for today and the future.
63 Years Exhibiting at the NRA Show
In 1958, Service Ideas was in its 12th year of business and had just brought a new foam-insulated carafe called the Thermo-Serv to the industry. It was also the year Service Ideas first exhibited at the NRA Show!
Here are some other fun facts from the year 1958.
- President Eisenhower signed a bill that allowed Alaska to become the 49th state
- NASA was founded
- A gallon of fuel cost $0.30
- First time in history when more people crossed the Atlantic by air vs. sea
- First iHop opened in Las Angeles (and began using the new Thermo-Serv Carafe from Service Ideas)
- Newly launched consumer products included Cocoa Krispies, Cocoa Puffs, Friskies Dry Cat Food, Jif Creamy Peanut Butter, Mr. Clean, Pledge cleaning products, Rice-A-Roni, and Sweet'N Low.
- The Hula-Hoop is introduced and becomes a fad across America.
